Durante todos estos años aquí, en esta nueva tierra, aprendimos mucho sobre nuestra propia cultura latina y sobre todas las culturas que alberga esta gran nación. Experimentamos diferentes formas de ser iglesia y maneras de servir al Señor. Trabajamos arduamente por encontrar el equilibrio intercultural y espiritual. Enfrentamos muchos desafíos relacionales que nos afirmaron en el precioso amor de Dios y su soberanía. Después de orar y buscar confirmación divina en esta decisión, nos encontramos ahora en el rol pastoral de la nueva iglesia Hispana “La Bendición” Evangelical Covenant Church.

La semilla de esta iglesia es “Ser Bendecidos para Bendecir”.

La misión de Dios cobra vida en nuestra sencilla declaración de misión: “Transformar familias con el poder, amor y bendición de Dios para ser bendición a otros”.

La base de valores es el AGAPE:

• Adorar a Dios con Pasión
• Ganar familias a través de conexiones por amistad
• Adiestrar Discípulos para que sean discipuladores
• Proclamar la Palabra de Dios con ahínco
• Extender la bendición a través del poder de la oración

Todo esto fue posible gracias al apoyo de Northwest Conference Covenant Church y el Pastor Mike Brown, quien nos guio a recibir entrenamientos para plantadores de iglesias y posteriormente, junto con otras dos parejas mas, participamos en el Centro de Evaluación para Plantadores, donde fuimos evaluados por otros Pastores y Sicólogos quienes después satisfacer los procesos y de orar por nosotros nos recomendaron para esta gran tarea. Estamos tan agradecidos con Dios por su fidelidad y por dejarnos ser parte de este propósito.

 Our Calling

After praying and seeking divine confirmation for this decision, we now find ourselves in the role of pastors of a new Hispanic church: La Bendición (The Blessing) Evangelical Covenant Church.

The seed of this church plant is, “Being Blessed to be a Blessing”.

This simple mission statement helps us bring God’s mission to life: “To transform families with power, love, and the blessings of God in order to be a blessing to others”.

The core values of the church are formed by the word AGAPE: (trans. from Spanish)

• Adore God with passion
• Gain (win) families through friendship connections
• A-teach students so they will be teachers
• Proclaim the word of God with excitement
• Extend the blessing through the power of prayer

All of this has been possible thanks to the support of the Northwest Conference of the Covenant Church and Pastor Mike Brown. He sent us first to a church planting conference and after that (along with two other couples) to the Assessment Center for Church Planters where we went through an evaluation process by other pastors and psychologists. After this process was completed, they prayed for us and recommended us for this great task. We are so grateful to God for His faithfulness and for allowing us to be part of His purposes!
