This Sunday at Redeemer

Everyone is welcome to join in our Sunday schedule which includes the traditional service beginning at 9 am and the celebration service at 11 am.

Sunday, August 24:

  • Pastor Steve is continuing the sermon series based on the book I Am a Church Member with sermon title, "I Will Treasure Church Membership as a Gift." We will hear on this subject from Al Fairbanks.
  • No Disciple U Sunday classes, so between services join us for coffee and chatting with friends

Miss a Sunday? You can listen to sermons online. Keep up with events at Redeemer by regularly checking the church calendar.

Stocking Up!

The beginning of school is just around the corner, so we are collecting school supplies for Zanewood Community School, our adopted neighborhood elementary school. Look for the marked box located in the central hallway to drop off your donations:

  • Plain yellow, no. 2-sized pencils (not mechanical)
  • Washable Crayola markers
  • 4 oz. bottles of Elmers glue (not gel or paste)
  • Watercolor paints
  • 24 count crayons
  • 24 count colored pencils
  • Large erasers (like “Pink Pearl”)
  • Plastic school boxes
  • Wide-lined, one-subject spiral notebooks
  • Scissors
  • Solid-color pocket folders
  • Pack of wide-lined, loose-leaf paper
  • Rulers (must have inches and centimeters)
  • School bag or backpack (no wheels)

As we get into the school year, watch the newsletter and bulletin for opportunities to volunteer at Zanewood as well.

Helping Homeless Youth

The youth of the NW suburbs are taking a stand against youth homelessness! Please help raise the necessary funds for a new homeless shelter in our community to provide safe, stable shelter and transitional housing with intensive support services for homeless youth ages 16 to 21 from the NW suburbs. There are several ways to donate to this great cause:
  • Online:  Go Fund Me
  • Check: made out in the name of your church, with “Brooklyn Avenues” written in the memo field; give all checks to Pastor Todd
  • Cash: give to Pastor Todd

Got questions? Feel free to contact the church office. Don't miss the fun story of the recent "rooftop campout" and the groundbreaking for the new home.

Music for Jamaica

The last weekend in April, Redeemer hosted the launch of the Jamaica Music Education Outreach Program with two concerts featuring international concert pianist Huntley Brown and friends, as well as conductor David Kozamchak with members of the University of Northwestern-St. Paul Orchestra. We enjoyed the music and learned about opportunities to volunteer in Jamaica at music camps or teaching music. You can donate your poor, tired, and nearly worn-out instruments, and Davenport Music Repair (in Brooklyn Center) will repair and refurbish them before sending them to Jamaica. If you would like to contribute to the costs of shipping musical instruments to Jamaica, talk with Wayland Richards or contact the church office.
