Staff

Rev. Steven P. Larson has been our Senior Pastor since July 2006. He has a B.S. degree in Youth/Family Ministry from Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota, and continued studies at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago. Steve's passion is to communicate how much each individual, no matter who they are, is incredibly loved by God and that forgiveness and new life is found in Jesus Christ. His life call as a pastor is to help believers live together in a community that is learning how to worship God and show compassion to others, living out the words of Ephesians Chapter 4.

Todd Kardell  is our Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry and has been serving Redeemer Covenant Church since 2001. He received his undergraduate degree in Teaching K-12, Physical Education and Health Eduation from Bethel University and graduated with his Masters of Divinity Degree in the spring of 2010 from Bethel Seminary. Todd loves to see students better understand and embrace God's love and share it with others; he enjoys challenging them to work together to make an impact in this world through serving the Lord. 

Seth Lindberg joined us as Associate Pastor of Worship and Outreach in June 2009. He holds a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Bethel University and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from North Park Theological Seminary.  In addition, he has several years of experience as a worship leader, having served churches in Illinois, Colorado and California. In his role as worship leader, he enjoys helping create an atmosphere that allows people to connect with God through music.  As our pastor of outreach, Seth loves helping people take their faith beyond knowledge of God and into an active experience of following His lead. 

Elaine Bursch has been a part of Redeemer since 1982,  when she was called by the congregation to her current position as Director of Congregational Care.  As part of her ministry, she has provided leadership to the Stephen Ministry program for 20 years.  In addition to her focus on caring for the congregation, she also works extensively coordinating volunteers and arranging special events. Elaine considers it a great privilege to work for the Lord in the nurture and care of the Redeemer family.

Amy Long is our newest staff member, beginning her ministry at Redeemer in January 2011 as Director of Children and Family Ministry. Amy earned her B.A. in Christian Education and Biblical and Theological Studies and her Master's Degree in Christian Spiritual Formation from Wheaton College. Amy has served churches in Chicago and Minneapolis and comes to Redeemer with several years of experience working with children and families in a range of cross-cultural settings, including both churches and nonprofits. Amy is passionate about finding creative ways to help children encounter Jesus and respond to His call to join the Kingdom of God.

Beverly Scripter joined us as Sanctuary Choir Director in September 2008. She has a Bachelor of Music Degree from North Park University and a Master of Music Degree from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. She is ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in Specialized Ministries. Bev loves helping people use their musical gifts to praise God. Her vision for the music program at Redeemer is to involve as many gifted people as possible in a variety of ways of serving God and edifying our congregational worship.
